The
Red-winged Blackbirds (
Agelaius phoeniceus) have begun returning to Mid-Michigan. I thought I saw one last Friday evening. This evening I definitely spotted two on the outskirts of Alma. Within a few days I expect they will be everywhere. To me the return of the Blackbirds is the
first real sign that spring is on its way.
