My wife noticed this female
Twelve-spotted Skimmer (
Libellula pulchella) in the
Native Pollinator Garden at the Saginaw Chippewa Academy this morning. After helping her carry some things in to her 2nd grade classroom, I spent a few minutes photographing it before I headed to work. This was my favorite photo of the bunch.
It looks like she has had a hard life, but even missing a portion of a forewing, she should still be able to fly and capture prey.
