Earth Day at Audubon Woods

Tomorrow (April 22nd) is Earth Day!

I will be spending the morning at the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy's Audubon Woods Preserve leading an educational walk through the preserve.  Joining me in leading this walk will be CWC Executive Director Katie Randall.

Audubon Woods Preserve is located at the corner of Wing Rd and Gilmore Road northwest of the village of Winn.  If coming from Mt. Pleasant:  head west on M-20 (High St./Remus Rd.) to Winn Rd.; turn left on Winn Road and continue south on Wing Rd. for 2.5 miles; turn right on Wing Rd and continue west for 1 mile to the preserve.  Parking is along the side of the road.

For more information on this walk visit the CWC's website.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!

Now get up off your rear end and go outside.   Do something.  Plant a tree (extras from our tree sale are available today at the Isabella County Fairgrounds).  Pick up some trash.  Watch wildlife.  Build a home for animals - there are lots of examples here on this blog.  Go to a local park or preserve.  Go fishing.  Climb a tree.  Feed the birds (or squirrels).  Stop and smell the flowers and watch the bees.  Play.

Just get outside.  Now.

Every Day is Earth Day.

Today is Earth Day 2013.  I am not going to give you a list of things that you can do to celebrate.  There are lots of other places where you can find a list like that.  Remember we have to live on Earth every day and not just one day out of the year.  Every day is Earth Day.
